All of our travel within Argentina, as well as to Chile, was seamless, with agents meeting us at every airport to take us to our hotel and arriving at our hotel in ample time to take us to our next transport. The well-organized and informative tours arranged by out agent broadened the scope of our vacation, while allowing us free time to hike in Patagonia.
And Patagonia is, in a word, magnificent.
What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?
The most memorable part of our trip will likely be the excursion (arranged by Kieran) to see Magellanic penguins in Tierra del Fuego, during which we were allowed to walk amongst them at their nesting place. Hiking in Patagonia was all that we anticipated – arduous, but with glorious vistas and incredible views at the end of the trails.
If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?
We most likely would skip Bariloche. While in a lovely setting, the city itself lacks charm. However, the primary reason we went there was for the fishing, and my husband enjoyed his three days with guides (again, arranged by our agent) and the opportunity to catch (and release) a 6-pound brown trout.
