On your first day a chauffeur will take you to El Calafate,  which will be your Patagonia base for exploring and discovering this beautiful region, where you will spend the next 5 nights.

You will tour the UNESCO universal heritage site of the Perito Moreno Glacier,  a rare mysterious glacier that is actually growing as others retreat.  Located a short journey of 48 miles from El Calafate,  the glacier was named after the Argentine explorer and academic Francisco Pascasio Moreno.  If you are lucky you might see the famous rupture where every few years the natural ice bridge breaks off letting the Brazo Rico section of water flow into Lake Argentino.

We’ll find the perfect Crampon spikes so that you can go glaciers hiking Patagonia for you so that you can head along the Rico Arm and enjoy a hike on the famous Glacier with a guide that will tell you all about the glacier whilst you trek.

You will also see the Upsala Glacier that feeds into the Perito Moreno glacier. Named after the University of Uppsala in Sweden, who sponsored the first glaciological studies in the area, unlike the Perito Moreno glacier this glacier is shrinking, most likely due to global warming.

Here you will take a boat cruise among the icebergs that have broken off the glacier before hiking over the terrain that the glacier has eroded  and see the Los Perros waterfall and amazing views of the Patagonian Ice field and the Andes.

The last day in Patagonia will be spent in the beautiful Torres del Paine National Park in Chile with an packed tour of the amazing mountainous landscape. A guide will take you along Lake Nodenskjold,  show you views of the Cuernos del Paine (photographed above) and accompany you in a hike to the Salta Grande waterfall where you will be able to take photographs of some of the most amazing scenic views in the world.
